Angry Okada riders at Juapong in the Volta region on Monday besieged the Police station over the murder of their colleague okada ridder. The Okada Ridder was murdered and dumped in the bush by his assailants Sunday evening but was found Monday morning. Delay by the Police to arrive at the scene infuriated the riders who stormed the Police station to put pressure on the police to act quickly.
A resident told mybrytfmonline.com that, “according to the information I peeked on the ground. They hired him so on their way they murdered him and took away the motorbike. The area is called Ghana Farms it is an isolated area. He was murdered and dumped. If you look at the scene you can see that there was a scuffle between him and his assailants before they overpowered and killed him. It looks like they used stone to hit the head” The incident is happening less than a month after the decomposing body of an okada rider was exhumed from a bush days after he went missing in the Okere District of the Eastern Region. The body of the 32 years old deceased identified only as Oboye Joe was discovered Wednesday dawn by a search team of Police and residents. The body has been deposited at the morgue for preservation. Information gathered indicates that the Okada rider was hired by a farmer Micheal Akrofi on Sunday, Febkruary 21, 2021, to transport him from Nyamebekyere to nearby community Asenema in Okere District. However, the Okada rider did not return. His worried wife started searching for the missing husband but to no avail. His family was informed and the case was reported to the Police.
Search by Police since Monday yielded no results until Wednesday when a spiritualist reportedly revealed to the family upon consultation the exact spot the deceased has been buried.
